While my clinical credentials play a significant role in defining my professional identity, I invite you to discover my authentic personality to foster a deeper connection.
Beyond being a humanistic therapist and a trauma counselor in Washington, I am equally a Coloradoan, cisgender female, heterosexual, daughter, career woman, academic, and healer. Each of these roles has contributed to my growth and shaped my understanding of the world.
While these personal experiences grant me insights and perspectives that allow me to resonate with your lived experiences, my training in humanistic trauma therapy enhances my ability to assist you in reflecting on your own journey and facilitate your search for meaning in life.
Being a first-born female raised in a family system fraught with mental health and addiction struggles, the process of staying truly connected with myself often seemed impossible.
In my younger days, I faced many challenges with developing a strong sense of identity, boundaries, and authenticity, until I came across therapy during my second year in college, which began to change the way I perceive myself and the world around me. This decision to start therapy led to my transformation into becoming the person I am today, who no longer holds reservations about speaking up and expressing herself honestly.
Starting this existential journey became a defining moment in my life, and it guided me to recognize my purpose: to share this transformative power of therapy with others.
Fully aware of the career challenges involved in specializing in such a niche and relatively misunderstood field, I dedicated myself as a trauma specialist in Seattle for C-PTSD.
When humans suffer complex trauma, we tend to dwell on the past and live in survival mode, which ultimately leads to the formation of maladaptive thinking and behavior patterns. Even when we try our best to move forward, we still feel stuck. This is where I come in.
As a Seattle trauma therapist, I believe in tailoring therapy to the person, not the other way around. I believe it is my duty to learn your “language” and work with you in an integrative and collaborative manner in assessing which modalities are beneficial to you at a given time.
I want you to feel deeply seen and heard, while also trusting that you will be skillfully challenged when needed.
In terms of a multimodal approach, I use a variety of techniques and evidence-based practices that best fits your needs, interests, and desires. A few of these include, but are not limited to: EMDR, ACT, IFS and KAP therapies. If you’re curious how these work, learn more about how these trauma therapy methods work together in treatment
